Aram Satyan: We are 50 years behind with such music

TV companies require money from young composers to broadcast their songs.

 

Razmik Amyan is a wonderful singer, he graduated from the conservatory, but he came to the conclusion that he can earn more by singing at weddings. President of the Union of Composers of Armenia Aram Satyan, commenting on the awarding of the title of Honored Artist of Armenia to Razmik Amyan, adds, if Razmik Amyan was awarded by the state, then he is the criterion today. “We offered composers for the award three or four times, but they were denied, as these composers are less known in Armenia,” Aram Satyan says.


The president of the Composers’ Union blames, first of all, officials for such a situation. “There is nothing worse than an official who has power and who can use the opportunities in their favor,” he stresses.
What will lose Armenian music if the Union of Composers does not exist? Aram Satyan is sure that we will lose the future. “We are 50 years behind with such music,” Aram Satyan notes. The details of the conversation in the program "Questioning the Powerholder".
