Armenia made itself so insignificant that it is not important even for its ally - Hayk Martirosyan

It is only due to the kindness of the US that negative steps towards Armenia have not been taken yet.

Can Armenia find itself in the cross hairs of the conflict between the West and Russia or, benefiting from this dispute, strengthen its positions? Political analyst Hayk Martirosyan gives a sharp answer to this question saying that Armenia is so insignificant and small, it has made itself such an unimportant country that it cannot become a target. “Just because it does not really matter to anyone. For which of the major international players does Armenia matter? It does not play an important role even in the life of its main ally,” the political analyst stresses.

However, the political scientist also notes this does not mean that Armenia can stay away from the dangers. “Becoming a target and just getting a strong blow are completely different things. It cannot be ruled out in any way,” says Hayk Martirosyan.

According to the political analyst, Armenia pursues a one-vector policy, has a clear political orientation and recently took quite powerful steps to weaken the vector in the other direction. “Relations with the United States are damaged, and it is only due to the kindness of the US that negative steps towards Armenia have not been taken yet,” Martirosyan says noting that nothing can be ruled out.

“Sure, if you take one side and accept it unconditionally, then you become an adjunct of this side. It is unlikely that anyone will be interested in special targeting, but as a territory that absolutely protects the interests of this side, you can certainly get under the blows,” says Hayk Martirosyan.
